The Village is proud to run two very popular and successful annual events: the Easter Arts and Crafts Exhibition and the Scarecrow Festival in August. Each of these runs for 3 days and attracts large numbers of visitors from miles around.

Other events, organised by the Events Committee, are held at various times during the year. Suggestions for or proposals to run an event are welcomed and should be put through the Events Committee who can be contacted via any member of the Parish Council.

The Village Hall is also available for hire by groups or individuals wishing to hold an event (see Village Hall page).

Details of events, together with details of Parish Council and other Meetings, appear via the Calendar and links which follow.

We meet at Higham Village Hall on the first Monday of each month except for January and August. For those who want to come early for a stitch and a chat, the hall is open from 12 Noon and we have a speaker or organised practical workshop each meeting starting at 2pm. The group is for anyone with an interest in textile arts. Whether an experienced stitcher or just wanting to start embroidery and other thread techniques, everyone is welcome. There is a £5 charge to attend as a visitor which is then deducted from the £40 annual membership fee if deciding to join the group
